Flower Moon Farm

Flower Moon Farm is a 2.5 acre farm in Chester, NY — heart of the incredible Black Dirt Region of New York. An acre of flowers, an acre of herbs and vegetables, and a half an acre that is soon to be a Flower + Herb U-Pick make up the land which is leased from the Chester Agricultural Center.

Flower Moon Farm is owned and farmed by Nicole Bard. In the midst of 2020, Nicole found her way to farming after years of home gardening. She worked for Dig Acres, growing a variety of mixed vegetables on 18 acres of black dirt to be sent to the various DIG restaurants throughout NYC. After that, Nicole tested her love of New York when she moved to Michigan for a farm season to participate in MSU Extension Tollgate Farm’s Sustainable Agriculture Apprenticeship. Appreciative of her time in the Midwest and the knowledge she gained during her season of farming for a 100 member CSA on 4 acres of mixed vegetables, Nicole knew she had to head back to The Black Dirt in NY for another season with Dig Acres. After the closing of Dig Acres in December 2022, Nicole knew her next step was beginning her own operation. She is thrilled to be continuing to farm in the Black Dirt at the Chester Agricultural Center.
