2024 is a watershed year in the history of the Chester Agricultural Center, having just completed two important infrastructure projects and welcomed fresh leadership and perspective for steering this multi-farmer land access initiative into its next iteration.
Twelve farm businesses, in the majority ran by women, BIPOC and/or queer identifying farmers, are operating out of the CAC and serving communities throughout the mid-Hudson Valley region and the larger NYC metropolitan area, with presence at twenty-six farmers markets across ten NYS counties: Orange, Sullivan, Rockland, Westchester, Ulster, Dutchess, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York ( Manhattan), and Queens.
With your ongoing support, and moving into its new phase, CAC will work to develop or deepen relationships with local schools and organizations to amplify our impact outside of farming, specifically centering farm-based education, and developing programming to support our agricultural community.
Chester Agricultural Center makes space for farmers, farmworkers, and the Hudson Valley community to identify common ground through education, dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and networking.
By supporting CAC, you are supporting our vision of a future where land is affordable to diverse, aspiring farmers, where food is accessible to all, and where we respect and steward the unique soils and ecosystems in our care.
